MAISON DESNY, PARIS ART DECO BOX AFTER A DESIGN BY ROBERT MALLET-STEVENS

To call this piece a "box" does not do it justice. Intended to hold cigaretts, matches, anything or nothing, it is stunning in its simplicity.

Ths actual design was taken from a design for a house by the famed architect Robert Mallet-Stevens. The perfect proportions, clarity of design and use of polished white metal make this  one of Desny's most important pieces, and an iconic example of great French Art Deco design.

Pieces by Desny are rare, as they only existed for a short time, but they are considered among the greatest and most innovative Art Deco designers. 4" H x 9" W x 8" D
