VINTAGE VICTORIAN EGYPTIAN REVIVAL GOLD AND ENAMEL EARRINGS

These are a fabulous combination of Egyptian Revival and Victorian extravagant design. The form is beautiful, and the enamel is a rich blue. The tassels, so beloved by Victorians, add style and movement. These are English, and date from c1865, when the opening of the Suez Canal inspired a lot of jewelry in the Ancient Egyptian taste.
