Pierre Traverse was a highly important French sculptor active during the 1920’s and 30’s. This spectacular, monumental and powerful nude is in white onyx, a costly, rare and temperamental material to work with. Exhibited at the Salon des Artists Francais in 1928. 32″ H x 15″ W x 15″ D, signed Pierre Traverse on the base.
