Arthur Siegel was born in Detroit in 1913, and studies at the U of Michigan and Wayne State University. in 1937, the New Bauhaus gave him a scholarship to study with Lazlo Moholy-Nagy and Gyorgy Kepes. Siegal worked for Life Magazine, Fortune and Colliers, among others, doing documentary photography, but he is also very well known for his photograms, for which he developed new techniques. This is a unique vintage gelatin silver print on warm-toned paper, and was printed by Siegel in Chicago. It is signed and dated on the verso. 19.5 x 15.75 inches.
