Serpent rings, were popular in Georgian and Victorian jewelry, and usually symbolized eternity. The motif continued to inspire designers well into the twentieth-century. This beautiful stylized serpent ring has a striking and unusual design, and is also impressive because of the 1.5 carat central diamond, which finds itself in the company of pave diamonds and calibre-cut emeralds, all set in platinum. ca. 1920's.
