Description
Jean Derval was a ceramicist and sculptor working in France in the 1950’s – ’60’s. He worked often with the well-known French ceramicist Capron, and was a friend pf Picasso. This is a fabulous vase, c 1959, with abstract figures in polychrome glazes, and shows the influence of 1950’s stylization. It is a commanding piece, measuring 33.5 inches tall. It could work perfectly with any contemporary furnishing, and be a dramatic focal point.
