VICTORIAN DIAMOND AND DEMANTOID GARNET FLOWER RING
This ring is a lovely example of the superb craftsmanship and elegant design found in the best Victorian jewelry. Additionally, it reflects the use of a “new” stone for the period: the green demantoid garnet was only discovered ca. 1860. The combination of green garnets and diamonds was very fashionable during the late Victorian period, as was the whimsical stylized floral motif. ca. 1880's.
