Henry El Kaim is an interesting character. Born in Casablanca, he lived in Israel for a good part of his youth, then came to New York, and in 1999, El Kaim moved to Tuscon, Arizona. He was a wrestler, and singer in a rock band, and a free spirit, and this is evident in El Kaim’s work.
This whimsical floor lamp, in gesso and painted wood, looks like a tipsy cactus. It is certainly as much a sculpture as floor lamp, and would be a great addition to many styles of decor.
