Archimede Seguso was one of the finest glass makers working in Murano. The “Merletto”, which means lace in Italian, was a very difficult technique to execute, and this not only has beautiful decoration, but a lovely, free-form shape. These pieces are highly sought-after by collectors, but one need not be a collector to enjoy this beautiful and very fine piece of glass. C 1952. 10.25″ H x 6″ D
We are proud and honored that this piece by Seguso was chosen for inclusion in New Glass Review – The Corning Museum of Glass. Over 2,500 images were submitted to the four jurors, who selected the best 100 pieces for this review.
